Hassan and Aneesa Love Ramadan

love ramadan

Ramadan is coming and Hassan and Aneesa are excited for it to begin. They are curious to know why mummy and daddy wakes up in the middle of the night to eat breakfast. They try to fast to find out what it feels like not to eat and drink the whole day. They also learn that it’s good to read the Qur’an in Ramadan, as well as to give charity and share food with neighbours.

Follow them as they discover the true spirit of Ramadan and find out why Hassan and Aneesa love it when the holy month arrives.

A glossary at the end of the book defines several terms associated with Ramadan used in the book, like “iftar” and “tarawih” to help children understand their meanings.

Welcome Ramadan

welcome_ramadan

Welcome Ramadan! tells the story of two playful siblings, Bilal and Maysa, as they eagerly await the coming of Ramadan and their interesting reactions to the changes in their daily routine throughout the fasting month.

It is written in simple prose which makes it fun for children to read the rhyming words on each page. As the story unfolds, the spirit of Ramadan, such as patience, perseverance, self-discipline, sacrifice, and compassion and sympathy for those that are less fortunate, are cleverly woven into the daily activities that the two children experience.

Come join Bilal and Maysa in welcoming Ramadan!
